Not Quite Fourty days and Fourty nights

Well.... all things must come to an end.... like the Patriots losing to after an amazing streak. But hey, the BRONCOS WON!!! Other things coming to an end from the Northwest include:
1. Rain.... sorry to say that we did not break the record for rainy days strait. I think we were less than a week away from it... it was 34? and we quit at 28, I believe.... Some of us were pulling for the whole 40 days and nights. We were going to use Queen Anne (little village town up the hill from campus) as our ark. Oh well. I was able to go to Gasworks Park in Freemont and play frisbee with Sharon. The grass was muddy but it was fun to actually stay dry and enjoy some clear weather. It had been nearly a month since Seattle could experience that sort of weather. We now are fearing drought-like conditions to strike at any minute....12 hours or more without preciptation!!! Oh Vanities of vanities! ( note the mock horror with which this is written)

2. "Single" status.... That's right. I am dating an amazing girl by the name of Sharon Chase. You would know the name from conversations with me over Christmas break. We have been friends since September and well... friendships and interests continued to flourish! I am excited to see where God takes our friendship! :)

3. My drumless streak! I am happy to report I have found a place to play the drums on a regular basis. My friend Tabby is a Music Ed major and has been assigned to direct and form a pep band for our school's basketball teams! They do not have a permanent drummer yet so I agreed to play. And- this a an amazing part- I will be paid $20 for my time!!!! As long as I show up all the time I will be on payroll. How great is that?! It doesn't take much time and it will be an outlet for me. This is a long awaited answer to prayer. Sharon plays in the pep band too, so we'll be able to share that time too. :)
That ends the list of things coming to an end (ha ha-word play!)

But I find out where I will be placed for being a Teacher's Assistant this quarter next week. I am excited! I decided to pursue Elementary Education ( the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree). I was praying this week and I reflected back on my times at Church camp this previous summer and realized how rewarding it was to interact and lead those kids. They were 4-6th grade. They are fun and still young enough to really reach. Keep this in prayer for me...

I made one perhaps "spendy" purchase this last week but "I regret nothing" (Simpsons quote for those who are interested). I bought an extra ticket from some friends to go to the Coldplay concert!!! It is a sellout show at Key Arena. They have been sold out for some time so needless to say this was a splendid find.

Letsee.....I am working on my application for Peer Advisor for next year. Keep that in prayer please! It's a big commitment and I really need to make sure it is one I can realistically take on with my classload next year. More to come later as I venture through the process.

Thats all for now! I am feeling a cleaning streak.... then maybe some homework.... I have a fourday weekend !!! (No classes until Wednesday!!)

Much love from the Seattle Redhead

Hello!
Hi Will,
I must say, you do sound content! Hey, that is great news about the pep band gig! Congratulations! I guess dad told you we saw J". Carp" last night. He was very nice - shook my hand and asked how you were doing. He has started an orchestra at Rampart. He has about 25 students in the group and they sounded VERY good! I was quite impressed. As with all young teachers, I think he is settling in and has found his nitch.
I was glad to hear you are making decisions about your major. I really admire the male teachers on staff and see how the students respond to them. I come from a long line of teachers so I have a great respect for the profession.
Hey, I drove your NEW car. WOW! you are going to love it! I think there's a part of dad that wants to keep it for us and give you my car. Hee Hee! It really is a great car. It has more horsepower than mine so it has nore zip. And it even has a sunroof for that balmy Seattle weather you are experiencing... :o)

I am glad to hear that you and Sharon are enjoying each other. It is nice to have someone to share good times with. It's great that you are both in pep band. Does that mean that you don't do the ballas anymore? I am really glad that you are able to play the drums. I know how much you love it. And to be able to make a little money doing what you love is a realy bonus!
Well, guess I better go for now.
Take care and I love you much,
Mom

I thought this was cool... Although you're sitting right next to me and I just showed it to you, I'm posting it here for more laughs and giggles.
